Jeff Ghannam is a guest on Conversations in Public Relations.


Jeff is a six-year member of the board of directors for the National Capital Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA-NCC).  He is currently president-elect of the chapter and has served as treasurer (2007-2008), chair of the Professional Development Committee (2004-2006), and member of the Program Committee (2003).


Jeff has more than 20 years of experience in corporate and non-profit communications and journalism. As vice-president of communications at the Biotechnology Institute, an Arlington, Va.-based nonprofit organization that promotes biotechnology education, he is responsible for leading the strategic and day-to-day communications initiatives for the organization.


Previously, Jeff was the director of communications for the Society of American Foresters, where he was responsible for national media outreach campaigns, marketing communications, publications, and grassroots communications.


Prior to joining the nonprofit community, Jeff owned a communications consultancy that served leading corporate, government, and nonprofit clients.


He received a BA in journalism from The American University in Washington, D.C.
